We will start with a brief definition of User Experience Design (UX)<\/a> and say that UX is about designing something easy to use, so simple that users don’t realize the ease of using the respective product. UX also means analytical thinking, attention to detail, empathy, and simplifying the processes your clients have to go through.<\/p>\n

What are the UX roles?<\/strong><\/h1>\n

UX roles describe the different parts designers play in the design process. These range from generalist roles – for example, UX designers and product designers – to specialized roles, such as visual designers and UX researchers.<\/p>\n

UX roles serve the design process, and a significant part of what a design team does is follow a user-centered design process.<\/p>\n

The tasks throughout the projects are numerous – from researching the target audience to prototyping and conducting usability tests. The main roles you need to know are as follows:<\/p>\n

1. UX Designers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Generalists working at all stages of the project thinking and have the following tasks:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Conduct UX research;<\/li>\n
  • Select the most optimal ideas;<\/li>\n
  • Provide\/accept critiques regarding possible solutions;<\/li>\n
  • Conduct usability tests;<\/li>\n
  • Launch the most beneficial design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    2. Product Designers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Similar to UX designers but focusing specifically on product and UX design. They assist in creating project goals, product roadmaps, but also have other strict tasks:<\/p>\n

    • Inform and plan roadmaps;<\/li>\n
    • Collaborate closely with development and marketing teams to ensure projects are implemented correctly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3. Visual Designers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

      Specialists in graphic design\/visual design focus on creating pixel-perfect prototypes required in the design process. Their main tasks are:<\/p>\n

      • Translate UX goals into sets of visually appealing designs (e.g., screens for applications) with high usability and accessibility;<\/li>\n
      • Apply branding guidelines;<\/li>\n
      • Use design concepts to create graphical interfaces that are pleasing to users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        4. Content Strategists<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        Must be proficient in writing to create persuasive, clear, and consistent copy that appears in the product. The tasks they must perform are:<\/p>\n

        • Create effective page titles and names for navigation menu items so users can intuitively access desired screens\/pages;<\/li>\n
        • Create effective emails and newsletters to achieve product goals;<\/li>\n
